and Keystone™ Hosts an AWSOM Fundraiser
Friday, October 30, 2009 (Shawnee on
Delaware, Pennsylvania) – The Gem and Keystone™
is hosting their first Beer Dinner on November 6th
at 7:00 pm benefiting A.W.S.O.M (Animal Welfare Society
of Monroe County).
Since the Pocono SPCA closed the Stroudsburg
shelter in January, residents have had few options
for temporarily housing lost or abandoned pets.
AWSOM will be a no kill animal shelter
in which foster homes, in addition to shelter space,
will be utilized to house homeless animals. A strong
coalition of volunteers and financial donors will
be necessary to facilitate this new humane shelter.
Fundraising is important as the group
is relying on donations to maintain their facility.
The Beer Dinner will feature five unique
beer pairing options including the acclaimed Pumpkin
Saison™ which will be paired with a Pumpkin
Mascarpone “Beeramisu” and pistachio and
banana Brûlée.
The cost to attend the Beer Dinner is
$49.00 per person. A portion of the proceeds will
be donated to AWSOM.
In addition to the Beer Dinner, The
Gem and Keystone™ will be hosting AWSOM happy
hours throughout the months of November and December
in which a portion of the proceeds from each ShawneeCraft™
beer sold will be donated to the animal shelter. Happy
hour at The Gem and Keystone™ is from 8:00 pm
- 10:00 pm Sunday through Thursday and 9:00 pm - 11:00
pm Friday and Saturday.
