Brian
Dougherty started playing guitar in Rock 'n Roll bands at age 18. For
over 20 years, he played rock n roll and blues in the tri-state area.
In 1989, he started a traditional blues band and began writing many
original songs. He played many venues, charity fundraisers and blues
festivals up and down the east coast.
He has opened and played with many blues greats
such as James Cotton, Snooky Pryor, Homesick James, Little Sammie Davis,Bo
Diddley jr, Deborah Coleman, Johnny Charles, Slam Allen, and Filthly
Rich to name a few. He is featured on a Silk City release called Standing
Room Only which is still available on CD.
In recent years, he formed his own classic rock band and plays all over
the tri-state area.He covers the great classic rock bands such as The
Doors, Rolling Stones, Allman Bros.,CCR, Eric Clapton, Neil Young, and
many more. Presently, he has brought his original guitar style to work
with long-time friend bassist Gary Truelove,and drummer Jim Heimbuch.
He believes timing is everything and seizing the moment. When you gather
the right people together, it creates an unique sound and energy. For
